Dr Katharina Sailer has more than10 years of experience in competition matters.
She has provided advice in cartel cases (including rail tracks, car glass, lifts, road construction), mergers (including Unilever/Sara Lee, Lufthansa/SN Brussels), market investigations (UK groceries inquiry) and in other cases of anticompetitive behaviour (including TV advertising, luxury cosmetics) across a large number of different industries and before different competition authorities and courts.
She has experience in providing advice on theoretical economic question as well as in analysing complex data and providing econometric analysis including demand estimation and merger simulation.
Katharina is fluent in English and German.
Katharina holds a Ph.D. from the University of Munich and a Diploma from the University of Cologne, both in economics. She was a visiting researcher at the London School of Economics.
Katharina has previous experience with Charles River Associates (CRA), the UK Competition Authority (CC/CMA), LEK Consulting and the Kiel Institute for World Economics.
Katharina has published on competition economic questions and acted as an economic referee. She presented at a large number of international conferences.
