FTC analysis of unreported GAFAM transactions
Mid-September, the FTC published the results of its investigation into non-HSR reported acquisitions by GAFAM. This blogpost reports on main results and how it compares to my previous analysis on this topic.
GAFAM merger reviews
Here is another visualisation of a dataset. This time, I focus on GAFAM acquisitions and associated merger reviews. The number of GAFAM acquisitions peaked in 2014, after which we see a gradual decline. Microsoft and Google account for the largest share (each around 30%). At least 56% of the larger acquisitions have been reviewed by authorities in the US and / or Europe.
